About Our TeamOver 75 Years of Auto Body Expertise
Owner and Operator
In 1961, a persistent, 15 year-old boy stopped by the local body shop daily after school. The young Jim Davison knew he wanted to work on cars and before long, the body shop owner offered him a broom. Although not glamorous, this was a start.
Eager to learn, Jim quickly advanced to odd jobs, prepping cars for paint, and soon learning how to straighten metal with a hammer and dolly, melting lead for filler. By the time Jim had finished high school, he was a fully trained auto body repairman and painter.
Dedicated to the field of auto body repair, Jim’s only absence from the business was to complete 3 years of military service with 2 tours of duty in Vietnam.
For the next 25 years, Jim continued to work at improving his trade becoming a master painter and esteemed service manager experiencing unprecedented advancements in technology and training. Well known among his peers for completing a thorough and quality repair, Jim was also respected by his employers for his dedication and loyalty.
Jim’s career advanced beyond his boyhood dream when Jim and his wife, Vera, purchased Lockard’s Collision Center in 1996. Now owner of the broom that he pushed 35 years earlier, Jim has both the vision and the authority to impact change in the body shop business. Through Jim, Lockard’s has become a business committed to training and education, caring not only about its customers, but also about its employees.
Today, Lockard’s Collision Center is a progressive auto body repair facility reflecting Jim’s 40 years of dedication to continuing growth in his trade. Our growing repeat customer base confirms
Jim’s integrity and attention to genuine customer service. More than just an owner, Jim is an integral part of the team. You will see Jim in the office with customers and on the floor with his staff. And, if you stop by at just the right time, you may even catch him pushing a broom.
